To enroll for the ACS Program the applicants should have the following qualifications.
- At least six (06) passes at the G.C.E (O/L) examination including Mathematics and Science, OR,
- Any other equivalent or higher qualification acceptable to the Senate.
Exemptions are granted for year 1 courses, if students have followed the relevant subjects in the G.C.E. (A/L) examination and obtain at least of 40% overall marks at the Exemption Test conducted by the OUSL.
A student having a minimum of simple pass (S) for a relevant subject in the GCE (A/L) examination may request exemptions for year 1 and 2 courses of the relevant discipline of the Advanced Certificate in Science program. However, still the student needs to acquire a minimum of 50% of the total credit (i.e. 30 credits) by following the courses of the Advanced Certificate in Science program
• According to the G.C.E. (A/L) stream, the students can select courses amounting to maximum of 30 credits (3 courses) in each Academic Year.
• Students who intended to register courses at the Faculty of Engineering Technology, They need to Pass all 3 subjects in one sitting or obtain 50% course credits as exemption
in Advanced Certificate in Science
